About O’ Levels Section
TIS Senior Section strive to maintain a perfect balance between a Shariah Compliant Curriculum and an extracurricular program. The aim of the senior section is to prepare our students for A’ Levels, university, and beyond.
Hence, our Senior School follow the CAIE Syllabi.
During a three-year stint in the senior section, our students are highly focused upon securing their best achievements in academics and otherwise, to enable them to be successful in gaining admission to their desired universities and excel in their preferred field of interest.
Introduction
In Grade IX, students are introduced to the world of O’ Levels with a variety of new subjects including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, bringing their total subject tally to 12. While this may seem daunting at first, the diversity of subjects is an integral part of the O’ Levels experience, giving students an opportunity to explore their academic interests, before they make the pivotal decision at the end of the year.
Subject Selection
Before starting Grade X, students select their O’ Level subjects for the next two years. In addition to compulsory subjects, students must choose between major subject groups such as Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and Business.
Students must also select two electives for a wide variety of subjects to further explore their academic interests. The subject list and possible combinations can be seen below.
CAIE Preparation
In Grades X and XI, students focus on their compulsory subjects along with their selected major group and opted elective subjects. Students get rigorous practice of learning outcomes, past papers, marking scheme(s) and examiners’ reports during this time.
Students appear for their Pakistan Studies, Urdu and Islamiyat O’ Level Examinations in Grade X and appear for the remaining examinations in Grade 11.
