Message from The Academic Headmistress

TIS Senior Section strives to maintain a perfect balance between a Shariah Compliant Curriculum and an extracurricular programme. The aim of the senior section is to prepare our students for A’ Levels, university, and beyond.

Hence, our Senior School follows the CAIE Syllabi.

During a three-year period in the senior section, our students are highly focused upon securing their best achievements in academics and otherwise, to enable them to be successful in gaining admission to their desired universities and excel in their preferred field of interest.

Academic

Subject Selection:

In Grade IX, students are introduced to O’ Levels with a variety of new subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Biology, bringing their total subject tally to 12. While this may seem daunting at first, the diversity of subjects is an integral part of the O’ Levels experience, giving students an opportunity to explore their academic interests, before they make the pivotal decision at the end of the year.

Before starting Grade IX, students select their O’ Level subjects for the next two years. In addition to compulsory subjects, students must choose between major subject groups such as Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and Business.

Students must also select two electives for a wide variety of subjects to further explore their academic interests. The subject list and possible combinations can be seen below.

CAIE Preparation: In Grades X and XI, students focus on their compulsory subjects along with their selected major group and opted elective subjects. Students get rigorous practice of learning outcomes, past papers, marking scheme(s) and examiners’ reports during this time. Students appear for their Pakistan Studies, Urdu and Islamiat O’ Level Examinations in Grade X and appear for the remaining examinations in Grade XI.
